In August, our Sunshine Window Cleaning team tackled one of our biggest and most rewarding projects yet—a stunning three-story modern home perched high in Point Loma. With panoramic ocean-facing glass, shingle siding, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bay, this property demanded precision, coordination, and a true professional touch.

The Challenge
This home featured expansive glass walls that had accumulated salt spray, marine haze, and sticky tree sap, the kind that clings even after traditional washing. Several of the windows were positioned high above steep slopes and delicate flower beds, making safe access a top priority. Because this was a luxury property with exposed wood trim that was freshly stained, every motion had to be controlled, methodical, and clean. The property manager contacted us because they needed a company they could trust to handle a high-end residence with care and technical precision.
Our Process
We deployed a five-person crew for this project, coordinating each zone of the home by radio. Using walkie-talkies allowed the inside and outside teams to stay perfectly in sync, especially on the upper stories where visibility and communication were limited.

Our workflow included:
- Extension ladders for secure multi-story access
- Water-fed poles to rinse inaccessible sections without stepping on the roof
- 0000-grade steel wool to safely remove stubborn tree sap and adhesive residues without scratching the glass
- Traditional squeegee detailing for all primary view windows
- Microfiber finishing on the glass and surrounding trim to remove fine residue and leave a spotless, lint-free shine.
Each technician handled a specific section—from interior coordination to ladder workand pole detailing—ensuring both speed and precision.

The Result
After a full-day operation, the results were stunning. Every window sparkled, the interior light felt brighter, and the homeowner could once again enjoy the breathtaking ocean views unobstructed. The before-and-after difference was striking—the sticky sap film and salt haze were completely eliminated, revealing flawless glass and restored curb appeal.

Why It Matters
Homes in coastal neighborhoods like Point Loma, Coronado, and La Jolla are constantly exposed to salt air, sap, and coastal moisture. These contaminants don’t just dull the glass, they etch and damage it over time. Routine professional cleaning prevents permanent surface damage, extends glass life, and keeps architectural features looking pristine.
If your home’s views are being dulled by tree sap, bird droppings, or coastal haze, our expert team can help.
